singer, songwriter, instrumentalist
Surrounded from childhood by the sounds of Motown, rock, jazz, and classical pieces, Preston developed a love of diverse music from a young age. His interests were fostered by his parents, both from music backgrounds, who instructed him in trumpet, piano, vocals, and music theory.
As his abilities developed, he found a passion for combining genres, and creating a fresh acoustic sound with modern production. Taking every opportunity in his free time to create new melodies and study the techniques of artists before him, Preston gradually composed his first album, Astray.
Preceded by the upbeat funk single, Loose, included on the full album-to-come, Astray features tracks which range from impressionistic blues ballads to driving dance pop.
